Waterlily Jewelry Container with Dragonfly Ring

$2,200.00

Some objects hold more than what they're made to hold. This one keeps your jewelry safe when it isn't being worn — and offers something worth looking at in its place.

The container is fabricated from Argentium silver sheet, its cylindrical form brought to a high polish and fitted with a fitted lid. Atop the lid, a chased waterlily and lily pad are worked in low relief — visible in full when the box is opened and the lid set aside, their quiet botanical detail a reward for looking closely. A piece of felt lines the interior, cradling whatever is placed inside.

The companion piece is an art jewelry ring — a dragonfly perched at the tip of a silver cattail stem, which forms the ring's shank. The dragonfly's body has been hand carved from a solid rod of Argentium silver, giving it a weight and solidity that belies its delicate appearance. The wings are meticulously saw-pierced by hand, their intricate venation emerging one careful cut at a time. Two small spheres of 24-karat yellow gold, granulated directly onto the head, serve as the dragonfly's eyes — warm points of color that catch the light with every movement. When the ring is not being worn, it slides beneath the stem of the waterlily blossom on the lid, where the dragonfly hovers in perfect stillness above the flower — as at home there as it would be above an actual pond.

The ring is sized 8. Custom sizing is available; please allow additional time for shipping to accommodate alterations to the shank.
