This teapot carries the story of its own making. Genevieve began the geometric body years before the pandemic, setting it aside without a clear vision for how it would be completed. It was the solitude of 2020 that finally unlocked it — the months of seclusion that, while paralyzing for many, freed her creative mind to find the path forward.
The result is a study in beautiful contradiction. The body is sharply geometric, its clean angular planes polished to a mirror finish that commands attention. And yet, true to Genevieve's enduring artistic voice, the organic world refuses to be kept out. Cold-forged sterling and Argentium silver branches creep across and into the teapot as though the piece had been left in the woods and reclaimed by the earth — roots finding their way through, nature quietly overtaking structure. The handle continues this dialogue, beginning as a hollow-form fabrication and transitioning into a cold-forged section, its hammer marks a counterpoint to the geometry of the body.
The tension between order and wildness, between the made and the grown, is what gives this piece its life — and its smile.
