Hemiptera Pendant with Blue Topaz

$825.00

Hemiptera Branch Pendant with Blue Topaz

This pendant offers another interpretation of the Hemiptera within Genevieve's Missouri Flora and Fauna series, joining the earlier Hemiptera Pendant with 24k Keum-boo and the Hemiptera Earrings as part of this ongoing study of the shield bug, or stink bug.

As with the other pieces in the series, the insect is fabricated in fine silver using the ancient techniques of chasing and repoussé, raising and shaping the wings and body from beneath. A lined texture enhances the wings, echoing the detailing found throughout the Hemiptera pieces. Here, the bug is suspended from a hand-forged silver branch, with a 4mm genuine blue topaz set in a handmade 18k yellow gold bezel adding a jewel-like point of color above the insect. The pendant hangs from an 18" sterling silver cable chain.

Dimensions: Chain 18"; pendant 1¾" length
