Hemiptera Earrings
These earrings continue Genevieve's Missouri Flora and Fauna series, pairing naturally with the Hemiptera Pendant with 24k Keum-boo. Like the pendant, the earrings take their form from the Hemiptera—commonly known as the shield bug or stink bug—an insect often dismissed for its defensive odor, but one Genevieve finds quietly compelling for its clean lines and sculptural body.
Each earring is fabricated using chasing and repoussé, the same ancient technique used to create the pendant, raising and shaping the wings and body of fine silver from beneath. A lined texture brings further detail to the wings and thorax, while selected areas are left highly polished for contrast. The wings and body are then finished with 24k yellow gold keum-boo, fusing gold sheet to the silver surface for a warm, gleaming accent.
Available as a single pair, or as part of a suite with the Hemiptera Pendant at a slight discount when purchased together.
