This stem celebrates Genevieve's ongoing exploration of Missouri's native flora and fauna, inspired by the Datura (Jimson Weed) blooming each summer near her studio. Though best known as a poisonous plant, Datura's goblet-shaped flowers reveal an unexpected beauty—opening under moonlight and drawing in sphinx and hawk moths, along with the occasional visiting hummingbird, before closing again by morning.
Handcrafted in Argentium silver, each bud is individually fabricated, making every stem one of a kind. The piece is part of a broader body of work meant to highlight the beauty of native plants and pollinators, in hopes of inspiring more native planting in home gardens—though Genevieve does not recommend planting Datura itself.
