One on One classes are geared to the student that has specific techniques that they would like to learn. After contacting Genevieve to discuss what you would like to learn and the dates that will work for both you can then sign up through this site. You can be a beginner or a more advanced student to sign up for this class.

THIS CLASS CAN BE TAUGHT IN A VIRTUAL SETTING OR IN PERSON. PLEASE CHECK THE APPROPRIATE BOX IN THE SIGNUP FORM TO INFORM GENEVIEVE HOW YOU CHOOSE TO TAKE THE CLASS.

The dates are set up from Thursday, Friday or Saturday,

Class hours are listed below:

THURSDAY-FRIDAY, SATURDAY 10am-5pm

A one hour lunch break will be taken each day. Students are asked to leave the studio during this time.

Class and material fees are non-refundable but will be applied to your class. If you have to cancel rescheduling should be done within a 3 month time frame from the date of the original class. Otherwise all monies will be forfeited. Genevieve is more than willing to discuss rescheduling due to any major illness or death in the family.

Please be aware that the studio does have resident cats. They do not stay in the classroom while in session. If you have allergies then please take your allergy medications prior to class.

VIRTUAL LEARNING REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS

Students who sign up for a virtual class will be required to provide a smart phone and a computer or tablet which will allow Genevieve to see different angles during instruction. Students will need to download the ZOOM application on their computer or tablet and phone to access the class. This is a free download through Zoom.us. If you search for Zoom it should readily come up in your search bar. PLEASE be sure to download the app prior to class time. Information about using ZOOM will be provide and students will be expected to read and be able to use the application prior to the class time to save you from wasting time setting it up during your class.

Students will be sent a list of REQUIRED tools to be able to participate in the class. Genevieve has strived to keep the costs to a bare minimum understanding that not all students will have any experience with a metals class and will not know what to purchase or have on hand.

VIRTUAL CLASS STUDENT/TOOLS INFORMATION:

Students will be sent a list of REQUIRED tools to be able to participate in the class. Genevieve has strived to keep the costs to a bare minimum understanding that not all students will have had nany experience with working in metals and will not know what to purchase or have on hand.

Students have the OPTION of renting tools from Genevieve Flynn Studio or providing their own. A rental fee of $100 will be charged upon sign up to ensure the return of the tools to Genevieve Flynn Studio..

This $100 fee covers the following expenses for Genevieve and the student:

*Shipping tools to/from the student (Genevieve has factored in the cost of shipping tools from her studio as well as the cost for the students to return the tools rented.)

*Once the class is completed the student will promptly ship the rental tools back to Genevieve Flynn Studio. Upon receipt of the tools and upon confirming all tools are received then Genevieve Flynn Studio will reimburse the student in the amount of $50.

MATERIALS INFORMATION: Students will also be sent a materials kit that is factored into the cost of the class. If you choose to provide your own materials please let Genevieve know this in advance and the cost of the kit, $50, will be deducted from the class fee.

SIGN UP REQUIREMENTS

Virtual class students are required to sign up at least 2 weeks in advance in order to allow time for the materials kit to arrive via mail and/or to allow students time to order tools necessary to participate in the class. Failure to allow ample time for shipment of tools or materials will mean the class will be delayed from the original dates and will be rescheduled.

CANCELLATION POLICY

As Genevieve Flynn Studio prepares in advance and expends money to do so, the class fee is non-refundable. If an extraordinary situation arises that one cannot attend such as illness, injury, family emergency etc. Genevieve Flynn Studio will discuss appropriate measures in terms of refunds.

Safety Requirements and Corona Virus Requirements While in the Studio

Due to the Corona Virus here are the required guidelines while in the workshop: Everyone is REQUIRED to wear a face mask at all times while in the studio. There will be spray bottles of sanitizer at each bench as well as a bottle of hand sanitizer. You are encouraged to use the hand sanitizer at any time. All students are asked to spray the benches and hand tools used with sanitizer and wipe them down at the end of the day.

There is a bathroom located on the first floor which is always accessible to students and instructors. Please wear your mask at all times. Please use the sanitizing wipes or spray and white cloth to spray any and all surfaces that you have come in contact with I.e. door knobs, toilet seat, toilet handle, sink and handles. There is a small stainless steel container to deposit the white cloths when finished. These white cloths should be used as a hand towel and used only once.

I am asking that there be no interaction with my husband, as he has a compromised immune system.

Genevieve Flynn Studio is kept safe for all occupants. Compliance with all safety requirements are stressed and enforced. However, while working in and around the building, personal injury is possible. Students of Genevieve Flynn Studio agree to comply with all safety regulations set forth in this class description and agree to exercise appropriate personal safety precautions around studio equipment at all times for the safety of all persons.  Students of Genevieve Flynn Studio agree to participate in this class at their own risk and that neither Genevieve Flynn Studio or Kevin Flynn, property owner, will be liable for personal injury sustained by students during class or on the Flynn property.  By signing up for this workshop you, the student, agrees to abide by this disclaimer and cancellation policy.

Safety Glasses must be worn while working in the studio.  If you wear prescription glasses, I recommend over the glasses style safety glasses. They can be purchased through. Home Depot, Loewes, welding supply companies, Rio Grande etc.
Equipment and tools are to be used only as prescribed and under the instructors direction/supervision
Long pants and closed shoes must be worn at all times
Long hair must be tied safely back/up
Loose clothing or jewelry is not to be worn
If you are asked to put long sleeves gloves or an apron on, it is for your protection so please do so
I highly recommend ear plugs or other hearing protection when participating in a class that has a high level of noise during participation or if you are sensitive to noises
