A single loop in loop, fine silver, fused and woven chain, approximately 18” in length, with 18k yellow gold hooks gracefully holds a one of a kind Jewel Beetle pendant.  This pendant has an 18k yellow gold, cold forged branch at the top of a triangular shaped cabochon of rutilated quartz with exceptional clarity.  The bezel holding the rutilated quartz stone has an open back allowing the wearer to see completely through the clear quartz.  A Jewel Beetle hangs delicately, with its 18k yellow gold antennae, from the rutilated quartz.  The beetle was created using chasing and repousse which creates the three dimensionality of the body.  The wings are embellished with 24k yellow gold leafing sealed with water based, acrylic sealant.  

This piece should not be worn when applying perfumes/colognes, hair spray, lotions etc.  It should not be exposed to water or moisture since the sealant is a water based product.  I suggest wiping the necklace with a soft, cotton cloth upon removal from your neck.  Keeping the necklace in an airtight ziplock enclosure will deter patination or oxidation.  This will also keep the gold leaf from being marred or scratched.
